Melbourne St Clair Reunion Visits Lodge Unity

On Friday, October 25th 2024, members of Melbourne St Clair Reunion No. 17 (MSCR) traveled to Bright for their biannual visit to Lodge Unity No. 54. This exchange is part of a cherished tradition spanning approximately 75 years, where members of both Lodges take turns hosting annual visits.

Members of MSCR and Lodge Unity gathered at the Buffalo Motel and Country Retreat, a picturesque establishment nestled alongside the Ovens River with stunning mountain views. The entire motel was reserved for this special occasion. On the first evening, Brother Charles Charalambous showcased his renowned BBQ skills, setting the tone for a night filled with camaraderie and good-natured fellowship.

The following day, the group convened at Bright Uniting Church, where members of both Lodges collaborated in a ceremony to Raise MSCR member Brother Scott Hamilton to the rank of Master Mason. Brother Hamilton expressed his gratitude that his Masonic journey coincided with this longstanding tradition between the two Lodges. Friends from The Army Lodge and Gardenvale Mobility Lodge were also present to support him.

After the successful ceremony, the gathering moved to the Alpine Hotel for a celebratory roast dinner and refreshments. The festivities continued at the motel, where several hours were spent in animated conversation, sharing meals and drinks. The evening was highlighted by moving speeches from the Worshipful Masters of both Lodges and the newly Raised Brother Hamilton.
